Identify a personal purpose of day to day activities and efforts. |

Learning Objectives for the RAI / MDS Workshop:
Identify the most common areas of MDS errors. |
Apply actual experience in coding a comprehensive MDS assessment. |
Identify elements of the MDS process that should be audited on a regular basis to ensure compliance and full reimbursement. |
Write a care plan by answering 3 simple questions. |
Course Content
Course content is meaty and focused. The
fundamentals of long term care are addressed in
syllabus format along with power point presentations
and supporting materials. Workshop activities are
integrated throughout the presentations to employ
experience with calculations and other applications
of theory. Audit tools and an SWK created
documentation inservice are provided to the
professional nurse/attendee for their use.
The focus is on quality of care and compliance with
federal regulations. State regulations are
discussed as related to the federal guidelines.
Material is based on CMS guidelines and consistent
with JCAHO standards. Individual state regulations
have not been factored into course content due to
variations.
About the Instructors
Kathy L. Cromwell RN LNC NADONA/LTC has an extensive
background in nursing management. Ms. Cromwell is
experienced with the federal survey process and
Corporate Compliance. She has performed long term
care consulting services at all levels of
responsibility and is a Certified Director of Nursing Administration in Long
Term Care. She provides services as a testifying expert for
defense litigation and performs liability risk assessments throughout the United States.
Ms
Cromwell is a member of NADONA,
NACLNC, AALNC, SCHCA, and KAHCF.. She serves on the Board of the AACCA.
Kenda S. Beach RN LNC RAC-CT NADONA/LTC has a clinical background in
QI, Compliance and Health Management. She is
a Certified Director of Nursing Administration in Long Term Care and a credentialed Resident Assessment Coordinator. Ms. Beach authors educational modules and programs for SWK Consulting LLC as well as other companies that provide education to long term care and assisted living.
Ms. Beach has an active interest in personal growth and holistic health. She has been certified in hypnotherapy and has studied neurliguistic programming.
She is a member of NADONA, NACLNC, AALNC, SCHCA,
KAHCF, and serves on the Board of the AACCA.
